I then asked why several tables seated behind us received timely service. Another excuse that only aggravated the situation. My wife was tired and frustrated and ready to go, we told the waiter we were disappointed and we were leaving with out ordering a thing. I stopped by the host stand and explained why we were leaving. They seemed dis- interested. One person said they'd talk with a manager. It was outside over looking water. Lots of glowing lights wrapped around the building and trees. Wasn't any music but the atmosphere was chill. The manager came out to apologize for not having rice for my side dish. I get here with my family and the view was really cool for some. We sat facing the parking lot with a plastic table and chairs and rusted roofing facing us. The prices were really high, but I was okay with paying a little more for some good food. I ordered the mint blueberry mojo to thing, which honestly sucked. The drink was very watered down by the time I got it, and between the ice, the blueberries, and the mint, there wasn't much liquid to enjoy, let alone a ten dollar alcoholic beverage. My food was good, we got a crab boil. It was just two sets of crab legs, two potatoes and an ear of corn. It was underwhelming and decent, but not worth 3. Our waitress Agnes was very sweet and took care of us, but the hosts were really dismissive and not particularly interested in seating us. Parking was a huge pain. There was no toilet paper and the toilets overflowed onto a little boy's bare feet in the bathroom. It create the relax atmosphere. It is place for vacation. When you arrive, they will seat you to the location close to the water. I think the lunch for any fish sandwich is above average price of this area. It is 6 oz grouper come with choice of side which I choose the fried. The grouper is definitely fresh of the day. It was grilled correctly. Food is excellent but the price is a bit high. Food come out in normal expected time. However the tea never got refilled. Event after I paid, it was never refilled or offered. I was check once I am good with the food. I would said it is off day for the person who served me. However, the out side seating is still available. Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere! Have to say that this place with their inventive and ethereal outdoor dining area just nailed it for me. Found out that all of the seating is actually open air or outside and was concerned that it would be uncomfortably hot. We were taken back to a table underneath strings of lights under giant trees and placed near a large fan. It was actually breezy with the fan and I couldn't believe how beautiful everything looked in the night lights. I would definitely come back again anytime I needed to relax under the trees in the evening. My food was great and loved the atmosphere. I will wait for a seat in the trees! It's definitely off the beaten path so , unless you're a local or perusing through Yelp, I would doubt you would find on your own. It's located next to the waterfront/fishing pier so we had a nice breeze. We were seated outside in the gravel area amongst lots of foliage and giant trees and twinkling lights. It was magical and perfect. This was a special occasion so we didn't mind so much. I ordered the buratta and tomato to share with my friends and one of them ordered the smoked fish dip. The pasta was ok. I'm not a fan of angel hair but that's a preference thing. The veggies consisted of huge chunks of artichoke hearts/mushrooms/tomatoes. I appreciated the veggie substitution but just felt like it was hurriedly chopped and dumped on top of the pasta annnd undercooked. Also, the price still reflected that I had the scallop pasta and not the substitution of veggies (which should be waaaay cheaper ). I didn't even mention anything b/c I appreciated that they even agreed to sub. So good job for flawless service in that respect. Loved the outside location under the trees. Beautiful view, great service and good food. I had the grouper and the fried green tomatoes and both were delicious. The view is nice. That is what I enjoyed most about this place. Ordered the combo crab pot boil and it was two sets of crab legs. I specifically asked the waitress beforehand how much crab you get as my Mother and I would gladly share if it was a lot. She said it was plenty for two people. It was underwhelming and overpriced. Won't be coming back. Do yourself a favor and look for other establishments in the area. This is a wonderful waterfront place that is trying hard to take care of their customers while they undergo a huge rebuild / remodel all at the same time. I look forward to returning after the construction is complete. Incredible location. Service is excellent. Food is average. Putting that aside though, if you'd like to spend a relaxing evening under the trees overlooking the harbor, this restaurant is a gem! I have been eating at Mar. Vista for more than 2. Island. Don't go there. Took over an hour to be served in nearly empty restaurant for a salad and oysters. One of the oysters tasted really, really bad. The manager's response . Bad food, service and manager response. Don't go there. Amazing food! Amazing waitstaff, and food was exquisite! The red snapper was the best meal I had on the island, grouper was also amazing.. Outside seating lovely. Inside rather drab and sticky. Food at lunch was excellent. The oyster lovers in our party we're ecstatic. Fried dishes were light and flavorful. Eating out on a Monday night during the off- season and at a restaurant with construction underway is probably never a good idea. But the food and drinks still cost the same regardless. And no one mentioned the half price wine deal so we had watery cocktails instead. But the real kicker was the table near us that decided to play music on their cellphone's speaker for everyone within earshot. We felt trapped. So I hope this was just an off night. Come on people , if the location meant anything , this place would be 5 star . What we want to have as an excellent place to represent the food quality !
