It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Nicholas Puhach, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at home on the family farm in McCreary at the age of 87 years. Nicholas was born on August 16, 1929 in McCreary, MB to. At just 20 years of age, Sir Richard Branson launched a mail-order record business – which grew exponentially into a music studio, then a label, and then an international brand. Reynolds High School and then attended East Carolina University graduating with a B. S. Doug retired from the US Army in 1. USPA and IRA as a financial planner. Doug returned to government service as a civilian, working for C. A. L. L. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, watching his grandchildren participate in sports activities and cheering on the Kansas State University football team as a season ticket holder. As often as he could, Doug loved spending time in Arizona, with his stepsons and their families. Doug is survived by his wife, Lani Whiteside; two daughters, Jennifer (Craig) Weddle, Lisa (Joel) Colletti; three stepsons, Kirk (Amy) Gates, Grant Gates and Clark Gates; a sister, Carolyn (Lee) Wyatt; six grandchildren, Carson, Mia, Samuel, Camden, Dylan and Tyler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
